Description

This view looks north along the V&T railroad tracks in Reno, and across the Truckee River bridge. In the distance, framed perfectly in the bridge, is the old Southern Pacific freight house. The freight house still stands by the train tracks in Reno, but the V&T bridge is gone.

This photo also offers a fairly clear look at the stub switches used by the V&T. This single three-way switch would send trains coming across the bridge to the passing track on the left, the mainline in the middle, or the turntable on the right.
